A few skill trees (notably the Moon magic and Subterfuge trees) contain Glyphs that allow Avatars to enter stealth. Hostile creatures do not attack stealthed Avatars from as far away, and enemy Avatars see stealthed Avatars as a shimmering blur. Stealth is potentially quite powerful and useful but has a number of limitations and complications worth keeping in mind.

-Stealth Glyphs only work when no enemies are aware of you, and you are not being attacked. They will fail if you try to use them in the heat of combat.

-Attacking and/or using a glyph from your Hotbar will remove you from stealth.

-Magic items that generate light and held torches prevent you from using stealth Glyphs.

-Glyphs that let you move around in stealth (like Silent Movement) are weaker than those that require you to stay still (like Camouflage).

-Hostile creatures can still detect you in stealth, but they must be much closer. If you are detected any stealth abilities in effect will be removed.

-Remember creatures are easier to sneak past (or up on) from behind.

-Stealthed Avatars appear as a faint shimmer to hostile Avatars. Stealthed Avatars are easier to see when in motion.

-Stealthed Avatars can still be hit with weapons, arrows, and spells.

-A few spells can remove stealth from nearby enemies, including enemy Avatars.

-Pickpocket works while in Stealth.
