MAIN 1:

FRONTLINE FIGHTER

Handmaiden is absolutely not used for ranged combat. Her ammunition load is very low, and her strength comes from being very near her allies slaughtering a tide of vermin. This coupled with the fact that she has more base HP than Kerillians other 2 subclasses means that you can take a few more hits from the hordes, giving your actually ranged allies a chance to continue dealing damage.

Some Tips and Tricks for a Handmaiden Frontline Mindset:

-Handmaiden has serious benefits from dodging rather than blocking. Whenever possible, try to start tuning your muscle memory to dash left and right instead of blocking or shoving the hordes.

-Do not forget, you can use charged heavy attacks WHILE DASHING, including charging and continuing the charge after hitting the dash key.

-Keep an eye on your ranged ammunition. If you know your dwarf is rocking some Drakefires, don’t worry about every non-armored special that comes your way. Focus on different targets based on your own ranged strength.

MAIN 2:

FLANKER

Kerillian’s delicious High Elven persona also has the unique opportunity to get behind almost any size horde she can think of, in any situation. Her class-specific dash ability goes through enemies, so she can easily get to the hookrat pulling the helpless lumberfoots away. Utilizing this playstyle means that you’re much more independent from the group since they’re not always right next to you.

Tips and Tricks for a Very Zippy Flanker:

-Once again, if you’re blocking attacks you’re doing it wrong. By this, I mean the rate of hits coming from the maiden rarely allows a horde to reach you with a strike.

-Try to think of the horde as one individual enemy. Rather than trying to fully kill off 2 or 3 rats, consider trying to focus just on what you can hit. 100 damaged rats are way easier to dispatch by the rest of your team than 85 healthy ones. TEAM PLAYER!

-Your dash as a Handmaiden is the lowest cooldown F ability in the game. If you’re holding it even for more than a few seconds after it’s done charging, you’re wasting a lot of precious team utility.
