Let's Build a Zoo: Beginner's Guide - Tips & Tricks

Have you ever dreamed of building and operating your own zoo? With the release of Let’s Build a Zoo, your dream has come true. Even though there are dozens of Zoo management games, Let’s Build a Zoo has a unique concept and many elements that are borrowed from other games in the same genre. The game includes over 500 different animals, as well as the ability to splice animal DNA together to create over 300,000 unique combinations!

This article describes some of the game’s essentials that will surely help beginners. For those just learning about this game or new to it, we recommend reading this guide.

  • Setting the perfect ticket price is the key to making a lot of money in Let’s Build a Zoo! While shops and donations are excellent ways to supplement your income, setting your price too high will drive away visitors, while setting it too low will not attract many more.

  • Trades can be found on the world map and require a specific variant of an animal from another trade to complete – each trade you complete will unlock new opportunities on the map, so keep checking back.

  • The more benches you research, the faster they’ll replenish your visitor’s energy, so even if you’ve found your favorites, it’s worth unlocking them all! Benches are one of the most important things you can put in your zoo! They give people the energy to explore more of your zoo, walk faster, and, in some cases, stay where they would otherwise leave.

  • Once the animals have given birth, they will spend some time with their offspring before joining the rest of the animals in their pen. Increasing this time earns moral points, but visitors must wait longer to see the new babies. It is also possible to take these babies away from their mothers as soon as they are born, which will increase negative morality points.

  • You can start creating hybrids once you’ve unlocked the full genome of two animals.

  • If you place shops in your zoo, guests who need to go will hunt them out, no matter where they are in the zoo. They’re happy to walk or use subways to get a little relief, so consider putting shops down in strategic places away from your zoo entrance, as well as high traffic areas to earn some extra money!

  • Select a nursery, click the breeding button, and then Pick a Breeding Pair to set up a breeding pair. This will display the available pairs as well as the variants that can be bred from them. Unknown variants will only be visible as a silhouette.

  • Don’t forget to buy buses. You won’t get any visitors if there are no buses, but too many buses will block your entrance. It’s crucial to strike the right balance between bus numbers and visitors.

  • Once the zoo starts getting larger, it will be necessary to start zoning Animal Keepers to ensure all animals are fed and looked after. To assign keepers to a pen, click the heatmaps button in the top right of the screen and click the Animal Keepers heatmap.

We have covered almost everything you should know before starting to play Let’s Build a Zoo. If you have any additional tips or tricks to contribute to this guide, please leave a comment. We’ll update this guide as soon as your comment is approved.
