Top 7

Raceroom Racing Experience

RaceRoom is the most popular free-to-play PC racing simulator, hosting official race series such as the DTM, WTCR, WTCC, and ADAC GT Masters. Enter RaceRoom to experience what it’s like to be a professional race car driver. You can drive various free-to-play race cars and tracks with unlimited wheel time in multiplayer and single-player game modes. You can get premium game content for free by participating in sponsored competitions and other free-to-play events.

Additional cars, tracks, and liveries can be purchased individually or in packs in the game store with vRP, an in-game currency purchased with your Steam Wallet.

Those who complain about Atari physics, too much understeer, and the like should look at two things: Are you driving in amateur mode? If so, switch to “Get Real” mode. If you are using Get Real mode to adjust the car’s setup, how your car behaves is up to you.

Engine Evolution 2021

Engine Evolution 2021 is a multiplayer racing game similar to World of Tanks. Each race against 11 other players gives you experience and credits that you can use to upgrade your bike or unlock the next.

It’s actually a more satisfying and comfortable simulation than Kylotonn SARL’s Isle of Man TT: Ride On The Edge. If you have some spare time, it’s definitely worth a shot, with controller support, single and multiplayer modes, and a well-paced progression system.

TrackMania Nations Forever

In the truest sense of the word, this is a free game. In solo and multiplayer modes, you can drive at insane speeds on fun and spectacular tracks. The game includes a solid solo mode as well as 65 exceedingly challenging tracks. You’ll also find exciting multiplayer races. The game is quite old, but it has a lot of positive Steam reviews and no paid content.

There’s also an in-game editor for making your own tracks, a video studio for making your own movies, and a paint shop for customizing your cars.

Inertial Drift Sunset Prologue

Forget everything you’ve ever learned about drifting. With innovative twin-stick controls, completely reimagined driving mechanics, and a roster of fiercely individual cars, Inertial Drift rips up the racing rulebook. Full Inertial Drift costs about 20 Euros right now, but there is a free version of the game called Sunset Prologue. Here you will get a bit more than the simple demo version would offer. It includes two tracks.

Lakeside Loop – The long, sweeping bends of the lakeside are the perfect place to learn your craft as you race around the water’s edge.

Sunset Sea Circuit – A gorgeous neon sunset provides the backdrop for this technically demanding track.

Racing Classics Drag Race Simulator

The game is in early access, but it has mostly positive Steam reviews, which is always a good thing, especially for a free game, because early access games usually perform poorly. Here, you’ll get the most out of each car while testing its original performance in classic head-to-head drag races in the iconic style of the 1970s and 1980s! Challenge your opponents, reach top speeds, upgrade your vehicle, and make your vintage cars even faster!

Although it’s free to play, you have to buy things that will make you competitive; the first benefit is unlimited fuel, as filling your tank for free will take hours. As the game progresses, you’ll be offered special cars for a price, and you’ll be constantly offered deals on gold, silver, and more power, among other things.

Electro Ride Prologue

Do you consider yourself a great racer? Get out of that Ferrari and take on the real challenge: racing against the Eastern Bloc’s crazy machines! There’s no anti-lock brakes, no traction control, nothing. You and a beautiful, classic car with powerful neons are all you have.

Let’s be fair; this game looks great. Here you will get training to drive through the streets of Warsaw in the neon version of Syrena Sport and a full race on one of the two selected routes in East Berlin. You’ll be able to choose a neon version of one of the two Polish Fiats and beat the other 12 cars by choosing one of three difficulty levels.

While you’ve been warned that playing with the keyboard is a pain, make sure you have a controller connected.

Project Torque

Project Torque is a free-to-play multiplayer online racing game released in 2008. Along with GTA 4 in the same year. You can race against thousands of players on German racetracks, Hungarian or Mexican off-road tracks, English countryside, Shanghai rooftops, and more. Much like Gran Turismo, the license tests are extremely difficult to achieve gold awards but definitely help players get familiarized with the various tracks and cars.

This is one of the best racing games you can play on a potato computer. Although the game requires 10GB of hard disk space, it only requires 2GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo processor.
