How can I obtain gems?
There are numerous ways to obtain gems, We will go over the most best methods:
Logging in every now and then
Duel Links hand out gems randomly from time to time due to different reasons. Such as whenever a new box is released, they give out 500 gems to spend. Sometimes there is a server failure, and they will hand out a generous amount of gems to compensate. Maybe there is an anniversary and they celebrate by giving away 1000 gems. Just by logging in here and there, you will surely get gems.
Participating and Playing the events
Whenever a new character is released and you duel them, you can usually rack up on gems pretty quickly as they are rewards for how many cumulative points you can get. For example, when Yami Bakura was released, he had an event called “The Destiny Board of Doom”. Each time you dueled him, you would accumulate points. And with those points, you would earn gems. Every time a character is released with a form of event, you will earn gems if you participate in them.
The KC Cup is another event that will earn you massive amount of gems. By moving up the ladder you will get tons of gems, and the special part is, if you actually reach a rank high enough, you will get special prismatic secret rares, and even ultra rares if you are leet enough. \/ \/ \/
Then there are the miscellaneous events that come and go. They won’t give you a ton of gems, but they are worth doing because they also drop unique cards. These events can include: The Card Flipper Campaign, Treasure Hunter, Duel-O-Meter, etc.
Leveling up your characters
This is the slowest method but gives consistent gems. At higher levels, the level-up reward will be around 200-300 gems per level-up.
Duel Quizzes
Playing and beating the duel Quizzes will give you a small amount of gems, but doing them all will quickly add up and amount to an impressive amount of gems. Beat Level 1, 2 and 3, and then move on to the duel challenges. They are worth doing too because they expand your mind about the meta and play-making.
Ranking up Competitively
When you play on the ranked ladder, you will receive a small amount of gems each time you rank up. That amount of gems is increased whenever you go up a bracket. For instance: Plat 5 to Legend 1 will grant you 100 gems, but you will not get as much from going from Legend 1 to Legend 2. Playing ranked will not only grant you gems, but it will also allow you to select super rares of your choosing as you accumulate victories.
